Carlyn Jean Malin

IN LOVING MEMORY One year ago, Carlyn Jean Malin left us behind. Nicknamed Jeanne while still in high school; she liked it and it stuck. To some in the family, she was always Carlyn Jean. Born June 6, 1942 in Concord, California. She grew up in the nearby towns of Port Chicago, Cowell, Oakley, and Antioch. Additional years spent in Grass Valley, California. In the late 60s, Bellingham won the family over. She and her then husband James MaIin continued to raise their family there, never leaving. What a delight she was; this bright, beautiful, infectiously cheerful, talented wife, mother, daughter, sister. She loved to dance and model. She was born to Carl and Verna Berendsen, both deceased. She is survived by son James, daughters Corina and Tina. Brothers Sloan (aka: Sonny), and Carl. Sisters Virginia and Judy. Grandchildren Buck, Spencer, Michael and Christopher. She is so loved and missed. The last years were not kind to her. Filled with illness and injury. The only consolation for her loved ones; knowing the pain is gone. Rest easy sweet mom ... sweet Jeanne, sweet Carlyn Jean.

As a young man, Roy excelled at athletics in virtually all sports which included a national ranking in tennis and the Le Grand High School scoring record in basketball. Sharon Kaye

Sharon KAYE December 1, 1946 ~ March 4, 2011 Sharon screamed and kicked her way into our lives on December 1st 1946 and departed peacefully in the loving arms of her cousin Judy Beck, who was accompanied by her nephew Jeffrey Kaye on March 4th. She lived her life at full tilt from Bremerton to Bellingham to Bellevue. She blasted out of Sammamish High in 1965 and blew into Western Washington that fall. School was only a minor interruption to her passions for tennis and skiing; with field hockey and everything else a mere short stop on the way to her degree. Teaching was too tame, so the allure of the wide open skies drew her to Northwest Airlines as a flight attendant. Woe onto passenger and crew alike for they were merely a playfield for pranks, jokes, gags and merriment. Competitive tennis was her obsession at the Bellevue Athletic Club and Central Park Tennis Club. Standing a mere 5 feet, she was a giant on the court and in life. Her brother Larry passed away before her, leaving her nephew Jeffrey Kaye (Annagrace and daughters) as his loving legacy to her. Father and Mother, Bert and Gona, followed and they are all looking down on us and sharing the spirit she left behind: Love, Light, Laughter. A full tilt celebration of life will be held this upcoming weekend in Bellevue. The family gratefully requests donations to Sharon's favorite charities in lieu of flowers and cards: Beacon Foundation for Northwest Flight Attendants, http:// www.beaconfoundation.org/donate PAWS (local animal welfare organization) https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate? ID=1938&AID=763 Children's International (Sharon sponsors a little girl named Make Lucernas who lives in the Philippines) https://www.children.org/makeadonation.asp

Simon Erik Aceto

Simon Erik ACETO 1967 ~ 2010 Our beloved Simon died on May 10, 2010, from complications of renal failure. He was born in Bellevue, Washington, in 1967, to Emily Dike and David Arntson. Edward Aceto became Simon's stepfather in 1975, and adopted him and his brother, Julian. The boys cherished their new family name, and Simon changed the spelling of his middle name. In his youth Simon loved to ski, sail, and tease the truth out of people. He loved to be on the water in whatever craft was available, sail, motor or row boat, or homemade log raft. He was a thoughtful and tempestuous soul who was capable of great empathy, insight and hope. Simon was a spectacular and confident salesman. As a child, he sold home-grown apples to neighbors and fresh clams to yachters. Later, he provided on-site knife sharpening services to chefs. Rarely seen without a starched collar, tie, and a twinkle in his eye, he had charisma. He stood out amidst the purple hair and tattoos at Beth's Café, in Seattle, where he met his wife, Nicole. Simon and Nicole Burns were married in 1997, surrounded by relatives in Simon's Uncle Charles' home in Fall City, Washington. Simon found great comfort in family. His son, Anthony James, was born in 1998. Simon devoted the rest of his life to Anthony, loving and teaching him everything he knew about the world. In recent years, as Simon became less mobile, he posted a sign in view from his favorite chair:'I DO THIS FOR MY SON.'A clear inspiration and reminder of his drive to give all he could to Anthony. Simon had a big heart and a spirit strong enough to survive many severe medical traumas. He succumbed to a lifelong illness after a joyous weekend playing with Anthony. Simon was predeceased by his mother, and survived by his wife and son, his brother, his adopted father and his father. Sign Simon's on-line Guest Book at www.Legacy.com.
